Calendar - On the Road - Saturday Afternoon on the 26th (Florence)

1:00 to 3:00 PM:  Roberta Miller will be our host for downtown Florence.   We will get a chance to learn about the remarkable mining, milling, railroading, and oil/gas history of this community and we will also get a chance to see how the antique business is helping preserve the historic qualities of this community!

Denver and Rio Grand Train Station - learn about the various early railroads serving the area.

Price Pioneer Museum.  A diamond in the rough with some outstanding collections.

Get acquainted with Florence's antique businesses and how they are being used for the benefit of downtown preservation

 

Gain an understanding of Florence's interesting past including its historic oil and gas industry, its coal mining past, and gold milling.

 

We will learn about the efforts to bring the Rialto Theater back to life and make it a regional attraction.

We will learn about Florence's recent historic inventory and what the potential is for the community.

 

 

 

3:00 PM - Head back to Cañon City and on to the Royal Gorge Bridge for their 80th birthday celebration!
