Cañon City started developing in earnest shortly after the end of the Civil War.

This bank building built in 1882 is nicely preserved at the corner of Main and 4th Streets on the south side of the block.

This section of the 300 block of Main Street on the north side of the street is brimming with interesting history and is key to the early development of Cañon City

The beautiful FL Smith building looks almost the same as it did when first constructed. Check it out now and see what looks different on the right of it!

The Hotel St. Cloud was originally built in Silver Cliff and then shipped brick by brick to Cañon City to be reconstructed and it remains here today.

The historic First Babtist Church was a key part of Cañon City's history.
