Calendar - On the Road - Friday Afternoon - Garden Park

Friday the 25th - 1:30 PM:  Meet at the Garden Park Corrals at the north end of Garden Park. Tour guides may provide escort from the 4th Street Bridge to help you find your way or we will develop solid directions!

Three stops will be included:

  • Changing Landscapes of Garden Park - Curt Sorenson
  • Preservation Efforts at the Garden Park School - Peggy Sorenson
  • The historic Marsh Felch Dinosaur Quarry - Dan Grenard

The Garden Park School

Learn about the community efforts to preserve and recognize this important structure!

The historic Garden Park Cemetery

The Marsh Felch Dinosaur Quarry represents one of the nation's most important paleontology sites.

An interpretive trail leads to an overlook of the quarry where a picture was taken in 1888 when the quarry was still in operation.

Jim Like Ranch.  We will talk about the changing landscape as the ranching community becomes subdivided.

A short walk in Red Canyon Park will take us to a sign depicting some of the original settlers in this region.

You would ordinarily just drive by this building but we'll show you how the siding relates to the historic mining up the road at Cripple Creek!
