Calendar - On the Road - Royal Gorge Bridge - 80th Anniversary

Saturday Afternoon and Evening at the Royal Gorge Bridge

4:00 to 6:00 PM:  Free admission to the Royal Gorge Park on Saturday afternoon along with a specially developed brochure highlighting some of the history of the bridge.  We will also talk about the geologic history that goes back 1,700,000,000 years ( a little bit further back than when the bridge was built!)
6:00 PM:  Dinner on the south side of the bridge at the Cliff Terrace. Open air restaurant with your host the Royal Gorge Bridge Company as we share in the celebration of the 80th birthday of the Royal Gorge Bridge!
7:00 PM:  A short film on the history of the bridge followed by a not to be missed presentation by Tom Noel on preservation efforts in the Arkansas River Valley
8:00 PM: The Royal Gorge Bridge Company will give us a ride back across the bridge to your car.  As sunset is at 6:51 PM... this will be really exciting!

Historic snapshot of the Royal Gorge Bridge

Someone needs to build a bridge across that!

I wonder how they are going to get all that cable across that???

Dan took this picture out the window of an airplane a few years ago as part of a publication that he was working on!

You can ride on that but I'm going to see how it works first!
