Fremont County - Penrose

The historic Beaver Penrose Railroad Station, sorry its no longer there!

The first meeting of the Penrose Centennial Committee was held on March 3rd, 2008.  It was well attended and among the many items discussed were event planning, putting events on a calendar, and being a resource for community organizations as they work towards the Centennial in 2009. A Centennial Logo will be created, more community involvement is planned, and specific committees are being formed. Ideas for the Centennial include: quilt show, antique car show, old fashioned 4th of July, BBQ and picnic, opening of the new library, characters from Penrose's past, cemetery tour, Centennial scrapbook,  art show, poster contest, memories from Penrose, "Then and Now" photo exhibit, time capsule, and so much more. For more information, please call Sherry Johns 372-9675 or Penrose Chamber of Commerce 372-3994.

Thanks to some of our library friends! A historic exhibit on display at the Wells Fargo Branch in Penrose

What a great accomplishment for such a small community - Thanks to Sherry and all the good folks in Penrose for making a difference. Open this for more details on this project and what is coming next, a new Penrose Library!
