The historic Beaver Penrose Railroad Station, sorry its no longer there!
The first meeting of the Penrose Centennial Committee was held on March 3rd, 2008. It was well attended and among the many items discussed were event planning, putting events on a calendar, and being a resource for community organizations as they work towards the Centennial in 2009. A Centennial Logo will be created, more community involvement is planned, and specific committees are being formed. Ideas for the Centennial include: quilt show, antique car show, old fashioned 4th of July, BBQ and picnic, opening of the new library, characters from Penrose's past, cemetery tour, Centennial scrapbook, art show, poster contest, memories from Penrose, "Then and Now" photo exhibit, time capsule, and so much more.
